TECHNOFLEX TYPE THHN/THWN
CSA TYPE T-90
600 VOLTS
THHN ( 90ºC dry)
THWN ( 75ºC wet and dry)
DESCRIPTION :
Type THHN/THWN, a general purpose , small diameter building wire, is dual rated for 600 volts service at 90ºC for dry locations and 75ºC for wet locations, Construction consists of solid or stranded copper conductors with a special Blend (polyvinylchloride) insulation and a nylon jacket. THHN/THWN wires have outstanding electrical and mechanical properties , such as high dielectric strength and excellent abrasion resistance. Type THHN/THWN has the same high operating advantages of types TW or THW, plus the added advantage of a small diameter. THHN/THWN resists acids, alkalis, chemical fumes, oil, gasoline, grease and flame. The tough nylon jacket minimizes the possibility of damage from rough handling during installation and provides a low coefficient of friction for smooth, easy pulling into conduits, raceways, or ducts.
APPLICATIONS :
THHN/THWN’s small diameter solves design problems where space is limited. It is particularly suited for general-purpose building wire applications, including new construction work and modernizing existing systems. Because of its chemical-and-abrasion-resistance characteristics, THHN/THWN merits special consideration for a wide range of other applications such as power control circuits, machine tools (Class B & C stranded conductors only), Appliances, relay panels, and industrial wiring-where reliable performance over a wide temperature range is required
CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS :
IDENTIFICATION – SURFACE PRINTCONDUCTOR - material is soft-drawn bare copper UL-83. Sizes 14 thru 8 AWG solid conform to ASTM B3, ICEA S-61-402, and NEMA WC-5 ; sizes 14 thru 2 AWG stranded are Class C sizes 1 AWG thru 500 MCM are Class B strands ASTM B8 and ICEA
INSULATION - The conductor is covered with a special thermoplastic insulation and is rated at 600 volts, It withstands a continuous conductor temperature of 75ºC for wet locations or 90ºC for dry locations, without impairment of its operating performance, in compliance with UL-83 and UL-1063
JACKET -The outer covering is clear nylon per UL-83 and UL-1063
