Trans Canada Wire & Cable Co.
Soaking Pit Cable (SKPT) 600V 200
Deg.C
Our Soaking Pit Cables are designed for
installation on overhead cranes, in steel mills, smelters, refineries or
wherever unusually long service life is required under extreme heat and
flexing conditions.
SKPT Cables offer reliable service in
reeling/unreeling applications
and are ideal for installation on electrically driven
cable reels, heavy duty festooning applications, and other industrial
applications which require a cable to perform under severe stress, heat,
flexing and where molten metal spills may occur.
The use of a special Silicone Rubber Insulation
compound allows continuous operation at 200 Deg. C.
Also, Silicone Rubber offers excellent chemical
resistance and electrical properties, and when burned
Silicone
Rubber leaves a non-conductive ash which retains excellent dielectric
integrity, allowing continued operation until a controlled shutdown is
possible.
Silicone Rubber is fungus resistant, has good
weathering, flame, ozone and corona resistance, and produces minimal smoke
emission when burned.
The insulated conductors are covered with a
tightly braided glass yarn and are cabled together with non-wicking fillers
and then covered overall with a K-Fibre (polyamide fibre braid *Kevlar) and
finally an Overall Stainless Steel Braid for improved abrasion resistance.
